Terms & Conditions

Any Order and subsequent purchase of Goods (as defined below) or services from MoodOptic shall be governed by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

"MoodOptic" is the trading name for MoodOptic SA, trading on the internet at www.moodoptic.co.uk and on the telephone at 00351 232 488 516. "We" / "Us" / "Our" refers to MoodOptic, "You" / "Yours" refers to the Customer.

VAT registration number: 507798325. Registered office (and trading office): MoodOptic, Rua Cândido dos Reis nº 51 R/C Esq. 3510-057 Viseu, PORTUGAL.

Customer Obligations

By submitting your order to us you confirm:

  • You are aged 16 or over and are not registered blind or partially sighted;
  • You are in possession of a written prescription for your spectacles that has been given to you by a suitably qualified person in the last 24 months (or 12 months if you are aged 70 or over); and
  • You will supply accurate details of your current prescription (including any notes on the prescription) when requested.


Prices may be changed without notice. Prices stated are inclusive of any Value Added Tax (VAT).

The price you pay is a retail price as appears in your basket. In certain territories where we sell, we are required to report part of the sale price to the relevant tax jurisdiction and pay that amount in tax. We do not adjust our prices depending on the sales tax suffered which varies from country to country. And we do not add tax to any amount shown in your basket.

In some delivery countries there may be rules imposed locally that will charge import VAT to the purchaser. We are unable to provide any refunds for such costs.


Orders should be made through the portal www.moodoptic.co.uk or via email and must include the product name, quantity, billing data, and delivery address and payment method.

Shipping time for stock contact lenses is 24 hours provided that the order is made before 4.30pm (except Bauch+Lomb that orders close at 11am). For Toric and Multifocal contact lenses, the shipping time can be three to five working days. If the product is not in stock, an email will be sent to notify the customer.

For contact lenses outside of stock, the delivery time will be 3 to 5 working days.

Submission of an Order represents an offer to purchase Goods from MoodOptic, and we confirm receipt of this offer via email (if the Order is placed via the Site).

Prescription Glasses orders are only accepted by us once your payment has been processed and they have been reviewed and authorised by a Dispensing Optician. In the case of the non-prescription goods, your order is accepted once the required payment has been accepted or when the relevant goods are shipped (whichever occurs first). We will confirm acceptance of your Order via email.

Payment and Discounts

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Payment platforms - PAYPAL, Braintree

All discounts are shown on our website at www.moodoptic.co.uk, via email or on our Facebook page.

The invoice and receipt are enclosed with the order.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping costs may vary depending on the quantity and value of your order. The estimated delivery costs can be found here.

Estimated delivery times are as follows:

  • UK and European Union - 1 to 5 working days
  • Rest of World - 15 to 30 working days

We will do everything we can to ensure your Goods are dispatched to you as quickly as possible after placing your order and we will notify you when your Goods are dispatched.

Delivery of the Goods will be made to the address provided by you at the time you placed your Order. If delivery details are completed inaccurately (for example, if the incorrect address is provided) the customer can be charged extra shipping costs for the new delivery.

If your Goods are not delivered safely within a reasonable number of days of you receiving notification of dispatch, you should contact us. Customers should promptly inspect goods delivered to them to satisfy themselves that any goods delivered to them are as expected.

In the case of non-delivery, if either MoodOptic or our courier is at fault, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or re-delivery.

Cancellations and Returns

We comply with the criteria for Distance Selling under the Consumer Contract Regulations (13 June 2014) and your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your Goods. You then have an additional 14 days to actually return your order to us in the post. You can cancel an order via email at info@moodoptic.co.uk or by phone on 00351 232 488 516.

We also comply with the terms of PORTUGUESE Item 1 of Article 6 of DL 143/2001, of April 26 governing distance contracts and the terms of PORTUGUESE DL 143/2001, DL 07/2004.

We have a two year warranty for all our products. The conditions are as follows:

  • Your new glasses are warranted to be free of manufacturer's defects, which includes material and workmanship, for two years from the date-of-purchase.
  • Scratching through usage is not considered a defect. And if you break them through usage or lose them, it is also not covered here.
  • The customer will be responsible for postage costs when returning item/s. Read our full Returns & Refunds details here.
  • For contact lenses, the cases cannot be opened.

Jurisdiction Limit

For all legal procedures between the Client and MoodOptic, Portuguese law overlaps with the Vienna Convention on the International Sale of Goods 1980 (CISG).

In these terms and conditions MoodOptic is a registered trademark of MoodOptic. S.A., MoodOptic means MoodOptic, S.A. and MoodOptic, S.A. Client refers to the person making their purchase under the terms and conditions set by MoodOptic.

Copyright and Trademarks

The Site’s design, names, text, images, graphics, logo are all owned by, or licensed to, MoodOptic. They may not be reproduced for any commercial or public purpose without the expressed consent of MoodOptic.

The "MoodOptic" name or any other registered or unregistered trademarks displayed on the Site may not be used without the prior consent of MoodOptic.
